This was by far the the best race so far I couldn't be happier! But Carl still has a ways to go.what he did last night was fantastic but I think the best he had was a top 3 car.not too shabby I would still like a win. That being said thrilled to death Greg won.

Greg's win was awesome, and we all would have loved to have seen if Carl would have been able to battle his teammates for the win without the bad luck in the pit stop, but it happens, and it's how you recover that matters when life throws you for a loop....Carl and that 99 team did not give up, kept digging, they gave Carl great pit stops with no errors after that.....that's all we could ask for.

I must say, I was expecting more negativity from a few of you....I'm so proud of you all!! <SNIFF!! Little tear of happiness shed!>

hmmmm, well, I guess I didn't see Carl manage to get the car from 30th back to 8th, because when he finished his pit stop in 30th position, that was all I could take of that race.....

To bad you missed it, Carl did a great job even tho the media just had very little to say due to all the gushing over Jeffie.

Just in case anyone missed it, One heckava great job by Carl regardless of the adversities.************************************** *

The second and what would be the final caution came on lap 96. Edwards came to pit road for four tires, fuel, wedge and air pressure adjustments. He returned to the track in seventh place but unfortunately there was a loose lug nut on one of the wheels. Not wanting to risk a loose wheel, Edwards returned to pit road a second time which dropped him back to 30th place when the race resumed on lap 101.

Without another caution for the rest of the race it was difficult for Edwards to gain track position since the field was so spread out. He was up to 20th by lap 160 and 15th on lap 241. Although still a bit loose the car was fast and Edwards was determined to get back in the top 10.

The final green-flag stop of the night was on lap 280. Edwards was 12th after the stop, but finally returned to the top 10 with 13 laps to go. He claimed ninth with six laps remaining and then moved into eighth

You've got to learn not to give up so early....Carl and team didn't. If you have a fast car, it doesn't matter where you are on lap 50, it matters where you are on the final lap...

Still though, the 3rd Roush car. I just figured if the 16 and 17 teams improved that much over the off season, the 99 should have too. Maybe they found a little something at this race that will help though. He's gonna need something if he's gonna beat the 16 for the championship.

I also like the positiveness on this thread! YEAH!! Something that a lot of people I dont think are aware of is that almost all of this crew is new to the 99 team. Also, a tire changer got hit by a lug nut right before Daytona and is out for a few months before he can return to his duties. I dont know if the lug nut issue is the "newbie" or not but I did hear Bob say on the radio for the crew to make sure they had extra lugnuts in their pockets for situations like the team just went through.

When Carl called into Clear 99 this week, he was pumped for Kansas. When Carl gets pumped for a track or an upcoming race and talks about it, it usually means good things
